Cooperation with Max Planck Institute Strengthened

We have extended our co-operation with Max Planck institute from last years visit. Ourteam member Assoc. Prof. Anna Jirošová and PhD student Sara Šišić has visited the Department of Insect Symbiosis at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology with Prof. Dr. Martin Kaltenpoth.

The visit included familiarization, for PhD student, with the institute and the laboratories available for molecular work with insects. The establishment of a cooperative relationship with the Insect Symbiosis Department was at the forefront of this visit. Discussing our students’ future work and possibilities of joint research, as well as methodological approaches potentially be used in the work. The research focuses on the microbial analysis of bark beetle symbionts and their dynamics during changing environmental conditions. Our student is expected to fulfil an internship at the mentioned institute, confirming the success of the short visit in December 2025.
