Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) Professor Hans Joachim Schellnhuber CBE mentioned the contribution of EXTEMIT-K project during the annual Roadshow of scientific achievements and discussions on future projects. One of the topics was focused on climate change and IPCC report (report of an Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), which will be released in early October and will summarize the current state of research of the effects of global warming by 1.5°C compared to pre-industrial levels. PIK scientists introduced their studies that should contribute to the special IPCC report. One of the above-mentioned studies was the paper of the scientists, which was developed within the EXTEMIT-K project.
