A several-month campaign organized and led by Dr. Roman Modlinger is currently taking place on experimental plots set up as part of the Extemit project. The campaign includes measurements on spruces infested with spruce bark beetle and the development of physiological, chemical parameters together with the development of bark beetles. Ground measurements are supplemented by optical parameters of the assimilation apparatus measured by means of a hyperspectral and multispectral camera carried by a drone. Aerial images are taken at the same time interval as ground data collection. The result of the extensive campaign will be a comprehensive overview of the tree's responses to infestations by bark beetles in terms of physiological and chemical properties of the tree.
